Blees ratings

Larry,
I've got a question about the Blees rating. Is the rating calculated only on the data that comes out on Friday afternoon or do they have access to daily futures positions? I was wondering because if it is only calculated using Fridays report could there be times when a 0 or 100 level is missed because it occured on Wednesday or Monday, etc.

Gary,

It comes from the weekly COT reports. Traders are required to report on a weekly basis, not a daily basis. So daily information is not available.

Larry,
I'm a little confused. Is the data that's reported Friday just the positions that the traders held on Tuesday or is it the sum of all positions for that week?

Gary, the Blees index is based on the COT report. The COT report, as you know, comes out on Friday for positions as of the previous Tuesday. So, yes, it’s the positions held on Tuesday. That’s the only reporting of positions that there are.

Larry,
That's what I thought but I wasn't sure.

Thanks,

As of Friday, I have a Blees rating of 25 for the S&P 500.
