Contemplative Shachrit Workshop: A Six Week Course
with Carl Woolf
Wednesday Mornings, 7:20-8:20AM
October 10, 17, 24, 31, November 7, 14
Temple Beth Zion
1566 Beacon St.
Brookline, MA 02446
Our weekly journey will begin with 20 minutes of silence, followed by learning and practicing a contemplative, devotional-chant approach to the morning liturgy.
Carl Woolf, who has studied Jewish Devotional Chanting with Rabbi Shefa Gold, will guide us in the use of chanting and silence as way to integrate meditation and prayer in our daily Jewish observance. There will be discussion about the liturgy as well as about the experience of this contemplative practice.
Suggested donation for the 6 week workshop is $72.
Following the 6 week workshop, we plan to continue a weekly Wednesday morning contemplative Shachrit service throughout the year.
If you are interested in more information on either the workshop or the ongoing Shachrit service that will follow the workshop, e-mail office@nishmathayyim.org or call 617-566-8171 x20.
