babyshambles

Arriving back in London, the Babyshambles and Whitesport entourage blink in the drizzly dawn, falling out of our mobile arcady - the green van that once again has survived a strange and memorable mini tour of provincial Albion. The players and stowaways and visionaries and light heavies gather on the kerb outside James' flat on the infamous Marquis estate, breathing in the damp, and ciggies, and the pigeon feather and building site dust air of the city.
A few hours on and I'm southLondon bound in Peter Perret seniors passenger seat, off to his studio to have a listen to the mix he's done of the 2nd babyshambles single 'Killamangiro', the guide vocals from the now legendary Bethnal Green sessions are to replaced with a final take to be caught today. He's a dangerous driver, looking cool in a dealers not garage guitar leather jacket and shades. One of the other passengers is Alice, in a crochet shawl and sequined gown. Her legs crossed, white and goosebumpled, witha pair of white kid leather cowgirl boots with diamond studs..I'm told she has a bikini beneath and nowt else but urban decay makeup. Anyway, Alice says
: "give me my fur coat back" and makes threats. One of you lot nicked it fro the stage in stoke last week. Please return it, her mummy gave it to her and it is of great sentimental worth, irreplaceable...
do the honourable thing...
