wow wat a night this was! started at 4 on steps of buchanan street! got drink down at safeway bout 5 wen every1 joined up! got on train to secc and left 4 people in central, got them though
had party in flat! cake n all, and the most amazin card, every1 sthat saw it knows wat it was like the pictue of jordasns body with petes face was amazin so thnks to amanda, leigh anne, suzie and christina!
so anyway on to stereo, got there bout 8 with q stretchin all the way back!pete arrived pretty soon after, but due to crowd round van, they had to go away! so stereo opened, i was in right at start, no problems cos we were on guestlist, but i had to watch lots of people gettin turned away, for no id! was a shame, i think it must hav been sold out at least 2 or 3 times over and they crapped themselves! but not to worry! i got my drinks headed to the monitor on stage and sat ther til pete came on
really enjoyed selfish cunt! good live show! didnt know who the other guy was but he was also good! wrote a song that day! and the words kept fallin off the mic stand! all whilst pete was serving behind bar...
then dot allison came on! played teardrop! it was great! during it pete walked on stage and then gig really started! opened with dont look back into the sun! place went wild songs played were:
albion, music when the lights go out, what a waster, what katie did, time for heroes, tell the king, delaney, up the bracket, death on the stairs, the boy loked at johnny, the man who would be king, tomblands, cant stand me, seven deadly sins, for lovers , back from the dead, i wanna be your dog by stooges! and ask by the smiths! any more feel free to add them!
was such a great gig, 4 songs in i was on stage cos everyone had pushed forward! was such a laugh! the constant shouting o "anyone for pimms??" pete mentioned wembley during albion! everyone one booed, "whats wrong with wembley?, me nans from wembley!" then there was a cheer again!
thanks to everyone that came out and made it a great day/birthday! iain katie, jamie, micheal, tibo, niall, jenni, victoria! everyone else, theres loads of you!! cheers laura for the chat outside! hopefully everything will b good!
and niall and laura! y u not stay in the van!?! shoulda jus went to wolves!!

wowwww...amazing.
he was just so good! i felt a bit sorry for the people at the back, they must not have been able to see anything when we were all on the stage. uch well!
Albion was just classic, especially when everyone kept shouting out Glasgow. The pimms thing got really really annoying after a while. was anyone from here actually shouting that out?

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey Craig!!
Holy-gaucamole, what a night!!! Did you have a good birthday pet? In fact, I already know the answer to that!! Did you get your, erm problem sorted?
Yeah, why didn't I stay in the van??? I woke up this morning going 'shit, I could be in Wolverhampton right now'... but if I'd gone, I would've been like 'SHIT, I'M IN WOLVERHAMPTON???'. I probably would've gone though, if I'd had my bag with me - only just got it back there from Michael.
Such an excellent night though! Wee bit scary at times, but worth it!
My Japanese Ladies are fucked!! Was convinced someone had stolen them this morning. Gawd, I was proper ill last night! 3 cheers for Katy though for having us all back! You up for coming to see Uncle John & Whitelock on Wednesday Craig?
Hello again to everyone else!! Did anyone else take any pics? I did, but knowing me it'll be ages until I get them developed.
Much love, Laura aka The Landlords Daughter xxx

Wow, I had the most unbelievable time ever too; my brother (you may have seen him, he was in the red libs jacket, sweating away) came throught on the bus from Edinburgh, spotted lots of random sights on the way such as a pink inflatable gorilla, arrived in Glasgae, got a drink, managed to share a cab with three lads from Aberdeen to the venue (hello to you kids; saw you on stage ripping it up!). Didn't scramble on the stage but was on the platformy bit at the side, sat/stood on the railings; excellent view, the most amazing of atmospheres, smiles, singing every word, it was just fantastic. And the cheer the crowd gave when Pete refused to sell his hat for £100, giving it away to someone else, "What am i gonna spend it on? I've given up drugs." I hope he sorts himself out, i really do. Last night was so much better than Peteless Libs at T in the Park, i reluctantly and tentatively suggest that The Libertines need pete more than he needs them.... but I sincerly hope he gets better and that they can play together again. The crowd singing Carl's bits of Can't Stand Me Now was pretty sad.
The set was brilliant though, i think skag&bone man summarised songs played pretty fully, but there was Don't Be Shy too. It was indeed pretty sad seeing people being turned away, at least there was some hungry vultures outside offering to pay stupid-but-honestly-it-was-worth-it amounts of money. I can't believe they wouldn't accept your driving licence; i'd have been screwed, impossible to go back to Edinburgh to get my passport. Oh, and my brother is only 16 so he'd have been up shit's creek too.
Does anyone remember what the last song was? As we left we saw some people disappearing into the night with stolen mic stands, good skills!

got a big sloppy kiss from pete and dot allison, so i was happy.
got one from raj too, not as happy, but still!
raj mate, you are fucking mental! now i believe you that you drink bleach! wouldnt be suprised man! t-bone too, you's were knocking hell out each other man!
Then when raj dove from the back of the stage into the crowd, what a fucking nutter! I love you mate!

oh yeah, he played Mocking Bird as well, a song that he learned "off me uncle Albert"; i like to think he did it because we were shouting for it, but probably not.
Yeah, the crowd were great as a whole, altho' i could have twatted whoever i heard shouting "Play What A Waster again". No.

Hello Everyone...
Right, where do we begin, started with everyone meeting at stairs on buchanan street, useless really, had a carry out but couldn't drink it. Then on to Suzie/Christinas flat, that was alright as well, just a piss up with strangers, can't go wrong really.
Now the fun begins, walking down towards the gig, and pretty much five minutes after we arrive Pete arrives too, I seem to remember him being in a white van, but when he left it had turned green... maybe it was sick or something. Anyway, in the van I got an amazing pic of him on my phone, now I have promised this to many people, but I dont know names or numbers.. so if anyone does want it feel free to let me know. If I showed you it on the night you would know why.
To be honest I was as far away from the stage as possible, coulnd't have been further, but was up on the railing between the booths banging away on the ceiling (if it was your pint the debris fell in sorry but but it was fun) Played alright, could hardly hear a thing, trying to sing along with everyone else. In fact, rolling back about twenty, I met Pete again behind the bar, showed him the pics, said they were alright, asked him how he was, seemed to be doing alright, good to see the guy in good health, even if he's supposed to be on death row, you know.
After the gig it all kicked, got him signging loads've gear for me.. speaking to him through the curtain, again he was saying the same thing... Outside the venue, met him on the stairs, hugged him and weren't for letting go, til I did. Then ended up in his van, wasn't sure where we were going, had no cash, but was up for anything by this point. This is after dancing to Up The Bracket outside the venue, what the fuck was that all about, eh. What a night. Felt a bit sorry for the girl who pete shouted at and flung out the van, but love don't ask too intricite questions.. of course he's gonna react like that. Pete saying he wanted to go to wolfmans at the mention of his name was funny too... then hearing him sing along to 'supersonic' was like the passing of the baton. He was even nearly persuaded to go back to kttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt's house for a party, but didn't, security guard was a baw. Anyway.. what a night, pete is the dogs bollocks.. party at kt's was awesome too, although how much I remember will be determined when I sober up. Even walked from scotstoun to braehead.. met a mate from work who dropped me off... jesus the night unfolds.
Shall post more later when I feel either less tired or drunk again, probably the latter.
Cheers everyone for a top night,
Niall

She just said a couple of things about how pete should go back to the libertines, they love him and stuff, and basically he said fuck off. She was being a bit too forward, the guy is reasonable with probing questions, but at that time of night, these ones hit home hard, was a shame, he didn't wanna hear it, but anyway, of all the points you raise from my post, you pick the only negative one, hehe.
Cheers

Hello to every one i met last nite. I was stood about a foot away from pete all through the gig. When pete was serving behind the bar he passed me a pint for free and whitesport gave me his song lyrics. the ones that kept falling down.
Only down side was he never sold me his hat and then he handed it to someone else for nothing.

Oh and also, to whoever was saying that the albion was a boat in libertines parlance... you talk bollocks, from the horses mouth 'its england' interrupted with 'its britain' then he nervously agreed... so er, you talk rubbish.

I was there too last night and loved it. Unfortunatley I was one of the little ones stuck at the back so didnt see ANYTHING! That said, it sounded good and when I was at the bar, Peter was stood right in front of me posing for pictures and giving kisses to anyone who asked! Seemed very approachable and a nice guy! Hehehe however the scary security man was told by the bar manager to stop him coming out into the bar as he was giving away too many drinks!!!!!!
However two funny things happened to us: at the end of the night we were in the toilet, very drunk it has to be said, and the pretty guy with the eye make up from one of the support bands (dont know who - couldnt see anything!) was in the girls! He was fixing his make up - bless! As I was drunk I offered to give him some blusher and he accepted so I made him look like Aunt Sally! Haha he seemed pleased with the look though!
Then we went out (to the Garage, I know bad move!) and I met the guy who got Peter's hat!!! He was saying he gave 7p for it and Peter took that instead of the tenner! He put it on my head but, alas, I dont really suit trilby hats so it didnt do much for me! The guy seemed made up so that was quite sweet really, he said it made his night!
All in all it was a really good night, but just a wee bit disappointed that I never saw any of the people singing! Guess Ill have to either grow a wee bit or get assertive and push my way down the front! Nevermind!

Hello to everyone that I met and cheers Katy for the party, wish you'd let me drink that badger badger brew.
To whoever it was with the Aberdeen lads in the taxi, those were my mates, unfortunately they couldnt hack the pace and make it to the Ironside fest that was Katys party.
Raj, thats gonna be a £10 you owe may in May!

Helllooo! Had so mcuh fun yesterday with everyone, thanks to all who were involved: Chris, Victoria, Lola, everyone at the party and especially Craig for giving me a ticket when i thought all was lost!
I can't believe they threw us out the car! But still, i'd have shat it when i woke up in Wolverhampton the next morning as well.
Worst bit is: lost my camera! I know i had it when i was outside cos i was still taking photos so the only place i could have left it would be the car... so now Pete has my camera, with a film featuring shots of Westminster from the South Bank, random stupid shots of me on a train, and about 10,000 paparazzi style shots of himself. hope he likes it.

That was one sweaty gig. Big thanks to Mr Doherty for coming up here to entertain us.
Phoney Pete mania hasnt bit the dust... there was too many over obsessive glammed up teens at the beggining. A sad spectacle i say. Big up the bouncer aswell for being really shit at his job and not being able to control anything. I love gigs where everything is fucked up. Felt sorry for all the tiny women jammed against the bar though, get yourselfs a tall man n abuse his shoulders (sounds kinky).
I also told the taxi driver we where going to see Dot Cotton, wishful thinking maybe.haha.
Some cunt also shouted something about a scorebag, why do these people ruin it for everyone else and have a social life? Got told someone lobbed a glass and it smashed off the PA aswell. Back in the day neds went to Bonkers and Archaos, now its Franz Ferdinand gigs. hahah.
All in all it was probably the best gig ive been to in ages. Lots of friendly, slightly fucked up, drunken libs fans. N scary sounding ladies who love to shout repetative advert quotes "ive been to hell and back" ???? Poor Pete must be driven to drugs with the fanbase he attracts. Hahah.

Yeh some fuckwit did throw a glass at the P.A. I was right behind the speaker when he threw it. What a fuckin stupid thing to do! Coulda scared some cunt for life! Took note of his stupid looking face (Fuckin big snout!). Everyone round about me were gunning to get this guy outside. But couldnt see the wee arse bandit when we went out. I heard that it was the same guy who hit a girl round the head during the gig and shouted abuse at her. . .

How is Victoria's tooth?
And Jenni!! That sucks you lost your camera! I thought it might have been a drunken error of judgement but that's rubbish!
Make a plea- the safe return of Mr camera for a bottle of your finest rosé (cheers for helping me get into a suitable drunken state- Wouldn't have sang Amore with Pete if i hadn't had some Dutch courage)
And my wee Reenage Tebellion! Thank you SOOO much for the ticket and the company- and Mr Jesus man for getting us in.
I've totally impressed the French guy with my grasp of the language WHILE PISSED
And I thank anyone who caught me mid fall, helped me search for ticket, remember my 'date of birth', Denise- cheers for the id!

hiya kids,
did anyone just ... not have a good time at the gig? .... anyone? ... at all ... i don't want to bring down the high but... actually, i dont want to bring down the high so i won't
shuts up
righty, it was LOVELY to meet all of you - you're all so nice and bouncy and lovely. Sorry if I was a bit distracted last night - the gig threw me a bit.. went a bit weird... but yey lovely guitars and sing-songs until EVIL neighbours start threatening me ( BASTARDS) ....
grumble
Told the ol' parentals about the party this afternoon "it's your house as much as it ours" came the response, bless em. Try telling the neighbours that...
So, um, yes - i do love you all even if i started staring absent mindedly out a window while we chatted and the next .org party will not be broken up - raj will start a riot if needs be.
I'm going to go try work out sheepskin tearaway on geetar now.

nah you're right katy (your house is rater booshank by the way!) some cunts were there just to spoil it for the rest of us! i was up on stage helping the sound guy stop the p.a. from falling over and flattening someone!read my post here about that fucking oompa loompa who done my fucking box in all night, and those twats waiting for ally's tartan army of the 70's to come along again who threw the fucking glass (a glass one not plastic) and the p.a. and smacked one of the folkies we were with (sorry, i'm mega shit ith names!)
but it still had a good time! made the msot of it, wouldve been nicer if people actually let him get on with it and respected the guy instead of fucking hounding him like little girls around westlife or whoever the kids listen to these days!
Thanks for letting us kip on the couch!

kteee... i know what u mean, see where we were standing, and had the perfect view, how amazing would the gig have been if it had not been blocked by those people that made me ashamed to be glaswegian. the perma tanned needy bitchy girls who ruined it for everyone at our side of the stage. i couldnt see a single thing for pretty much the whole time, even from behind the bar...
if only someone had removed them, or they had some kind of anti ned policy in the pub, as well as an anti under-ager one.
i swear, next time i see them, i shall stand on their feet and then run away

yeh, not to put a downer on it, as you said, but to be honest i didn't really enjoy the gig either. i mean, i had a great night and what not but personally, i found it really hard to be objective about the whole thing. initially i wasn't even gonna go just cos of the way of things with the band but i ended up there and while pete didn't look too messed up i still think the whole situation was kind of saddening, made moreso by the feeding frenzy that circled around him the entire night. i know there was no crowd control but we were standing at the back and we could see that the crowd were pushing forward so much most of the venue was empty.
i don't wanna sound all superior or ungrateful about it. i'm glad people had fun and that's fair enough. it's just that personally i found it a weird situation and, as gigs go, i can't say it was great. pete's a lovely bloke though, he handled the mass hysteria very well!

thats what i was saying, he was like a caged animal, so me and lola went to talk to whitesport and jesus and jesus took our tickets and gave us the guitars to get in! Then afterwards when everyone was outside, pete came out the door and no one noticed so i was standing having a nice chat, then someone noticed and they all mobbed him, i felt rather shit, kinda my fault, shoulda let the poor bugger go!
but still, those two fucking neds you were talking about, especially that one with 40 chins, i wanted to drop the p.a. i was helping hold up on them, grrrrrrrrr!
They were rather manly, took 2 of the sound guys to wrestle that fat bermuda tanned one off stage a few times, then she went round the front and climbed up! It was really really really fucking annoying me! grrrrr
Anyway, peace and love to the rest of y'all, hope y'all made the most of the night!

Thought i'd add some words to this post since i hadn't gotten round to it yet. Nice to meet anyone i hadn't met before. I had a great night as a whole, shame we left kteee's so early, but air hockey in mcleod's garage was fun.
And nice to see you all discussing me in my absence. Ian, in all honesty you were doing my head in a bit with the 5'8" thing, i didnt think it was that amusing, but maybe thats what happens when you have one too many....no need to let small discrepancies like that dampen my night though, i'll take it with a pinch of salt.
The music was top notch, Dot Alison's Teardrop was amazing. No point really in me going through all peter's tunes because i loved all of them. Favourites though were probably Albion, Can't Stand Me Now and Ask. Did anyone hear about Peter's actions when he was asked to sign an nme? A little unnecessary if you ask me, but there ya go.
Oh, and two other points of interest. Kteee, if your reading this anytime soon, the big shambles has left his mobile in your's. Not entirely sure what make it is, I'll try to find out from him. And did anyone find out the owner of that bag my pal mcleod hijacked?

Yeah, i think we're talking about the same thing John, a bit uncalled for if you ask me, but it goes along with his recent comments i suppose. I just hope he realises eventually that Carl (and Gary and John) are there for him. I'm sure we don't know all the facts, but Carl's had plenty of good to say about him, so why resort to that? Ach well, at least he keeps bashing out the modern classics.

Nice one, see you there then. Looking forward to another Kain boogie, and as for the "NME incident". The way i see it, people paid to listen to Peter play, so really, he doesnt have to speak to anyone, therefore there's no reason for people to go up questioning his position in the libertines, BUT...if i was Carl, I know i would find these little incidents quite hurtful, especially coming from my best friend....anyway, i need to get away from this PC, I can see it turning into an all night .org session....no good for anyone's mental stability.

Do you really want to know?
He ripped out an interview with Goldie Lookin Chain n said "ill be having that". Then wrote "Umpa Lumpa" on the cover.
Supposidly he stamped on a picture of Carl, dunno if he had dog shit on his shoe for full effect though.Ive kinda gave up caring about whats going to happen between them, ill just let life go on regardless. But, being left out your own bands gigs when they play songs you wrote isn't good for the mind.
I could go on, but im going out to annoy random Ravenswood patrons.

Yeah, no kickabout in the garden unfortunately.. but it'd have been nice to whip yer asses like.
How did the tidying/cleaning/hoovering go Kt.
As for the girl in the van.. well she was saying something about how he should go back to the libs, they love him, and he said no they dont cos if they loved me they'd let me play, which is fair enough. Then I think she said something more like, but they dont love you.. and he asked her to leave. He's just played a gig where he appeared to enjoy himself, and that was the probably the last thing he needed, you know.

You seemed very confident on kicking our arses! You still so confident bearing in mind we had the Hibee superstar and the exceptionally drunk Alex in goals tho.
Pete didnt stamp on Carl's photograph, id rather not say on here what happened but somebody else can if they want, I'll email you with it Craig.

look what pete said!!
"A hell of a first night in Glasgow... intimacy, inspiration and sweet sweet music the night before duringand after the show the like of which I've never known, and I confess a quiet sorrow that perhaps the first night of the tour was to be the greatest. How could that be matched?"
we kids done good!

Well he grabbed a pen and scored out carl's face in nme, it wasn't too nice of him, just a bit of an overreaction. Anyway, lets not dwell on that aspect of the night.
I might've been confident.. but it was false, I'd have got shafted. Lets be honest, I can play a wee bit, but not very well. heh

Ive been the same min, thats a rubbish name you've got yourself there! Suppose mines aint too original tho.
You missed yourself at that party, was pretty chilled but a good laugh, worth staying in Glasgow for certainly. Had pirates, budgies and beer fights with Frenchmen what moar (get it?) could you want?
Kev's a silly bugger, was it all over Dave Grohl?
See the Little Kicks are playing on Saturday, you going?

i think he wrote babyshambles across the nme as well? but in all seriousness, who would bring a big photo of carl looking like he's going to cry and ask pete to sign it, surely they would have realised that that might upset him...
i'm so glad pete had a good night, i wasnt sure how he felt about the stage invasions etc... but his post is good, good news!
