I think you should trim, but only a bit at a time. It will be less traumatic for you that way, and also you may get to a point where you are happy with the ends before you take off the full 5". It could be that just 2" will be enough of an improvement that no more is needed...only you can decide just how blunt you want to go
Your hair looks very healthy, and I think a more even line (you don't have to go for a completely straight cut if you prefer a 'natural' taper - you could try a V- or U-shape instead) would really bring out the length and condition and show off your hair to its best. And often people find the removing the thinner, uneven ends can make the hair look
longer even though it is actually a bit shorter.
