other bottles with flip tops.
A while back we were talking about contaminating the oil by tilting the bottle into our palm and then flipping it back over, especially if our hands weren't freshly washed. And I didn't want to do that to my precious oil!
I bought some bottles from a local shop called the Container Store and from Walmart (in the beauty section with the travel sized products). I made sure they were VERY clean and dry before I transferred the oils.
I'd dunked the original bottles in a sink of warm water to make sure it was a liquid as possible before pouring it. I then recapped them, stuck them back in the water so I could reattempt any left over oil before throwing those bottles away.
Oh, yeah, when I thought I'd gotten ALL of the oil out, I took my hair into little sections and twisted it, then stuck the twisted part into the bottle and used my hair to sop up any remaining oil!!! LOL I ended up with 4 scents on my hair, but I was going to shampoo in an hour or so, so it didn't matter!
I really like using the flip top bottle! I don't have to be as afraid of knocking the bottle over, or spilling as much if I did. It seems like just enough comes out with one quick tilt of the bottle. AND I haven't noticed any drippings down the side of the bottle like I did with the Monoi.
Don't forget to label the bottles if you have more than one flavor! I suggest you label them before you put the oil in.
Has any one else done this yet?
