Long hair should not be making you shed more. In fact, your roots should be
stronger from the extra weight, and you should shed
less. George Micheal has a theroy on this. Read up on some of his articles on the home page.
I would suggest that you do very gentle scalp massages, moving only the scalp- not the hair. Possibly even bending at the waist to increase blood to your scalp.
MSM would be a good supplement to invest in. It has decreased my shedding quite dramatically.
Is your diet healthy? Are you getting enough sleep? Do you rinse with cool water? Do you over brush? Have you tried satin pillow cases?
All these may help with your hair shedding and/ or breaking.
