Is great! I can only attest for the "old" version, as I've not tried the reformulated-Giovanni- anything.
It'll make your hair very very soft without weighing it down one bit. It actually makes my hair feel very light and nice.
It's not sticky at all, but I wouldn't describe it as a "detangler". It's more (well, just like it says) a leave in protectant.
I think you'll like it. It's good and conditioning, but if you REALLY need a protein treatment, their 3 minute Reconstructor is nice too. That's not a leave in though.
And finally (I know you asked about Direct, but I am getting carried away..) Giovanni's (ACK! Can't think of the name...) the one that's in a spray bottle... uhhh... name... name... it'll come to me later. Oh well.. they recommend that one for damaged/ chemical processed hair. It's nice too.
