For the 2C parts, they started pissing me off @ 2". The 1C parts are a little trickier because the only way you could tell they weren't 1A is because the ends didn't flip out or lie flat--they always curled in. I used to have all stick straight hair and the ends would fall flat or stick out, but now the 1C parts curl in and it takes 3-4 months or so before they'll flip out, unlike my 2C hair that flips in and out every 1-2months.
