? about conditioner only wash

What type/consistency conditioner is best? Most posters previously have suggested cheap brands because you use so much of it, but most of the cheapies have cones, which I would like to stay away from to see if I can correct a scalp problem. So anyway, what brand do you think is best and would a lighter conditioner be better, or heavier?

Very fine dark golden blonde hairs, but quite a lot of them. Dry dry dry ends.
Currently 28.5" long.
1st goal: waist apx 31" (wishful thinking here, but by my 28th bday in July, I hope!)
