Seems the bun has been the solution to all my hair problems so far so I'm expecting the bun will solve my highlighting problem now as well. I tried so many things to be able to continue cap highlighting and nothing worked so I had to move to foiling but I'm not fond of doing it on myself. I ended up doing foils a couple of weeks ago instead of the bun method I described I was going to try. I needed to try foils again just to practice.
Let me know if you try it yourself so I know how it works!
When I do get around to trying the bun-highlighting method I'll make a bun at the nape with lots of slack from roots to bun, secure it with a Ficcare type of clip to keep the slack just right, maybe spray silicone shine at the roots for extra slip, use a standard highlighting cap that's available at drugstores, and apply Nice n' Easy # 98 in Extra Light Natural Blonde.
