Rolling dry gives less curl. You can also use larger sections (more hair per roller) to get less curl. My sister likes to put her hair up in a high pony tail and section the tail into 4 sections. She uses one roller per section. You might want to try things like that. It gives differnt styles of curl, more or less curly. I have also found that using Aubrey Organics Sea Buckthorn and Egg Curl Activator after I've combed through my hair, defines the curls, so there's more curl, less poof! Oils also work the same way. Apply sparingly, then comb or pick through curls.
