mine looks like its made out of curly maple, so its a really pretty wood. the entire thing is completely smooth, and the bristle bed thing is a lot higher than i would think it would be. the bristles are really stiff, so its got the same power (hehehe funny word for this:)) that the old evil plastic brushes i used had for detangling. and it comes in a really cool red box:) this morning i stood outside in 90% humidity for three hours for my job under the texas sun. by the time i got to the post office, my hair was completely frizzing around and was making me not happy. i ripped into the box, took out the brush, and the frizzies went away right then! i was so excited:) i put some monoi in and that took care of me for the rest of the day. wow, this is really long:) well, i hope you enjoy your brush too, im so excited about mine!:)
