The recent return of O and A plus with Stern already on Sirius has prompted people on the mainstream airwaves to think of a move to the world of alternative media. One of those people is Tom Lykis, and for those who have not heard Tom before. He has a following in the LA area on Free FM that used to be a FM talker. Tom can be heard on most local stations. Check out his site at blowmeuptom.com and see if you can hear Lykis. He has had a high profile feud back a few years ago with O and A, where they went back and forth. However I saw recently on Tom's site that he will be going to the world of sat alight radio.
Tom's show is basically like a Howard Stern ripoff program, however Tom appeals to the men who are divorced or are going threw it. Stern appeals to those of the world who like porn and retards,etc. You have O and A who appeal to the per vs and child in all men. Tom has his n itch and can get over, he a few years ago made some news with local media. However Tom moving to Sirius is something that has happened just recently to Stern and with O and A coming back it has been a welcome site to many who thought they had to escape Fm/Am radio. Tom has a pretty decent shot with his dislike for O and A, Stern would welcome him with open arms on the air plus his problems with FCC fines and other things may make it easier to come on the actual free airwaves.
Now onto O and A, who recently came back to FM radio themselves. The rumor had been floating for a long time. The rumor turned out to be true and the boys returned to the air with hate and anger toward Stern and also other things in the world. What did each side get out the deal? CBS radio got a replacement for the sinking ship that was David Lee Roth and then CBS got a trained morning program and got some guys who can get CBS back in the ball game. O and A got their old jobs back and got a pay raise{i am sure}. They also got access to old bits that they could not air any of the XM shows.
Another situation that I will delve into next column is about this DJ battle situation in NYC. Basically two hip hop DJ's are feuding and they have shot insults back and forth and now one of them has made vile comments over the air about peeing on the others child. One man is in jail and the other has no street cred, basically it's 2 clowns trying to fill the void Stern left. Don Imus on his NYC show and MSNBC tv show said on Friday that basically these two bitches are going to get hosed by O and A and they need to shut up. However next week, I will jump into more of that situation.
Finally let's look at something that has happened with me recently. I have been having on Flex Wheeler and other top fitness people on the show. Now Bodybuilding.com wants to syndicate those interviews. I also am working on a new venture for the TV program I am going to be starting in the fall to make it's way on line next Summer. I am very interested in poss. Doing a audio pod cast version of this column for our pals at Crystal One radio.
