This weekend upcoming is the big fight between Chuck Liddell and Keith Jardine. UFC 70 entitled Knockout. UFC is now making some big waves in MMA and has a big big card coming up this weekend and this weeks rant is about UFC Knockout. UFC has put some good cards on and some crap shows recently. However on paper this thing could be a big show. Now a lot of people have sent e-mails about my recent columns on UFC and this week. No Dana White bashing...well maybe?!
Shogun should whip Forrest and sure hope he does. Shogun is from Pride and I have always thought Pride was better than the new UFC. However, Shogun is a fighter in the traditional sense and has earned his way into the MMA rankings. Shogun has went and blew out such stars as Rampage{Current UFC champ},Kevin Randleman{Former UFC champion},Nogueria{Former Pride champion}. Now Shogun has beaten and battered his opponents, where as Forrest has been a warrior but has rarely pulled out the win as dominating as Shogun. I saw Forrest on the reality show and hated him and have just wanted people to crush this monkey looking guy{However that is the genius of UFC, weather people liked Forrest and watch him as entertaining or where as I hate him so we watch him to cheer against him.}
I do hope that Keith Jardine crushes Chuck, now I have not liked Chuck because of his attitude then when all the proof on his eye spearing took place. I began to not like him more..which to my readers knows that is a odd statement. Chuck also has went out and partied and enjoyed his success which he is entitled to do. However, he has lost sight of the ball, like Rocky III. Keith Jardine is the Mr. T that is coming to get Chuck. Chuck has also taken his eye off the ball since the Rampage fight by continue to be “Chuck” and not “live in the gym” and fight like “Chuck. I think it would be great to see Chuck vs. Silva in December. However I think a Jardine/Silva fight would be a freaking war.
How the fight with Shogun and Forrest goes down, Shogun goes to the ground with Forrest and either submits him or Shogun gets pissed on the bottom and goes to a striking game and beats down Forrest. Now Forrest could go out and become a bigger name than he already is by beating Shogun. Shogun has all sorts of momentum and Internet buzz coming into this fight. However if Forrest wins, great he pulled off a big win. If Forrest loses..Big deal, Shogun's effectiveness is proved to be just what people say he is.
My pick on the Jardine and Chuck fight is going to be a war, either Chuck is gonna slowly pace his way into a knockout with Keith or Keith will slam jam and whack Chuck like they did Ariana on the Sopranos. I believe that Chuck has the goal of walking over Jardine and then whip Silva and get his title back. However if Jardine wins the bout and walks into Silva in December. Jardin could become the brand new Chuck. However I believe that “The Dean of Mean” will win and go into the Silva fight and maybe a big time slug out with Jackson for the title. Iceman is looking past Jardine and is looking for the Silva pay-off.
Finally, I believe Saturday will be a great show and hopefully I will not have to see all the bitching on the Internet of how much it sucked. I say this constantly about the fans who bitch. For instance all the WWE fans who bitch about the Pay-Per-View, they always are back for Raw the next night. Same thing with Baseball, they bitched about the strike but next spring, ESPN showed games where fans were at. UFC/MMA is the same, if the event sucks on PPV, the same people who bitch will be watching the event next month or the next free event on Spike TV. I say if you do not like it, go watch something else or back another company.
