The UFC continues to be in the spotlight in the last few weeks, the UFC has made headlines with such things as their Heavyweight champion, Randy Couture stepping away from the UFC. However splashed across all the websites this day are headlines of Brock Lesner coming to the Ultimate Fighting Championship to compete. The UFC is masters at bad press and handling bad material that come their way. People had speculated that the UFC show would be trying to cover up their loss of Randy. However, they had great fights and had the signing of the in my opinion of the “Next Heavyweight champion”.

Let's look at the scene we had a few weeks ago, Randy and Fedor was being debated on the message boards. When and will it happen or would it ever happen and then Fedor signed with M-1. Randy then was being tossed into wars with people like Nog and others. Randy then bolted and people tossed out that the UFC was screwed and we would have to watch Tim get the belt back. Now with the Brock signing all the talk of Randy leaving has died down and talk of what can happen and how long it will take Brock to get a title or shot at the belt has began. Even the signing of Brock brought some jabs at the former Heavyweight champion, Dana's statement said, “I don't think there are any other pro wrestlers that can make the transition to MMA, except for Brock Lesnar ," UFC president Dana White was quoted as saying in a prepared statement. "And if you look at his amateur wrestling credentials, his size, and what he's done, this guy can end up being a force in the heavyweight division of the UFC." Now that can be sent as a jab at Kurt Angle who is rumored to sign with IFL. He has also taken a shot at Randy in the prepared statement Brock said, “"If you want to go with the NFL of the fighting game, it's the UFC, and it was an easy choice for me," said Lesnar in a prepared statement. "Obviously I don't think I'm ready for a title shot right away, but I will be there, and I'm not gonna turn down any opponent because I'm here to prove myself. I'm not here to pick and choose my fights. I'll fight whomever they want. I don't make the fights; that's not my job. I've got one job to do and that's to fight." Brock's statement of “I am not going to turn down opponents.” A direct jab at Randy turning down fights but a Fedor match. Then the whole thing about fighting is his job is a shot at Randy's movie he is making now.

Brock coming to the UFC means that we could see a new age Mark Coleman, Coleman exploded on the scene. Brock could do the same thing, Brock presses the action from his Am and Pro days in wrestling to his 1 MMA show. Brock would go after guys like “Big Tim” and others. Brock could go after heavyweights who want to pace matches. Brock could come in and whip threw the Heavyweight rankings. Cro Cop is out there and wants some respect and then there is that Cheick Congo kid, good lord, Kongo/Brock, that sells tickets. Brock vs. Nog would be a repeat of Sapp and Nog. Nog would win with Jiu Jitsu, and Brock would look like a blowfish in a twine factory. Brock could be a force and could go far.

The worst thing for Brock would be to go in and face off with dudes who could make him look horrid and expose him. Brock could be exposed like Coleman was when he faced Mo Smith. Coleman had no cardio and was being nailed. Brock would do best to have Dana and them pad his record for awhile. Brock could get top flight guys to train with and make a match with some big time guys. I would love to see Brock face the Pride fighters Dana got his hands on with the buyout. Brock would have his hands full with some Heavyweights and some would be great to see. Jeff Monson and Brock would do great ticket sales.

How far can Brock go in the UFC, now if they build up Brock like a Chuck Liddell character. Brock would be able to run over fighters and build himself up and be in demand from the same fanboys and *******s who mock him. Brock going in with Cro Cop or someone like that would be stupid and could kill his marketability. Brock would do well to get into the mix and once the title is established with a new holder. Brock needs to shut up, don't jump in and say “I want my title shot”. Just wait and bide your time.

Brock can be used as a mouth piece for Dana, Brock would do well to rise up that ladder as fast as he could. Brock gets the title and then calls out Randy and trys to be Dana's revenge against Randy for bolting on them. Brock has the whole wrestling background and his MMA training plus he can cut promos. Brock could be the Chuck of the Heavyweight division. Brock would do well to let Dana guide his career instead of being like these jerks who go against Dana and get their asses handed to them. Believe me I hate Dana White but come on, it's like going against Don King in Boxing. Just sign the deal and shut up and make millions.

My view on Brock signing is great for MMA and is great for Pro wrestling as well. Brock coming to MMA means we will see that he can be put to the test. Brock can become a great star in MMA and could be a cross over from Pro wrestling to MMA. Brock could be that guy to bring both crowds together and make the right person, tons of money. Brock signing a week after Randy leaving, looks fishy but it's great PR if it's not timed this way. Plus all the crap I have heard about the options in the Heavyweight division in the UFC, Brock makes things interesting again.

Finally, Randy leaving the UFC could mean a lot or nothing to the UFC in general. Randy and Fedor would sell more tickets than anything Brock could do in the UFC. Randy would be superhuman and the ultimate star. If he could pull off a fight with Fedor and win then go back to the UFC and whip Brock then retire from the UFC and MMA. It's like Lennox Lewis, he came into the world of boxing. He beat everyone in his era and some up and coming stars then bolted from the scene and now Boxing is just in the toilet. UFC could be the same way if Randy and Brock do not meet or if they do not do much in the world of MMA.
