Weekly Rant:5/24/2009: The Proposed Cue at Access TV

This past week has been an interesting week in the world of Jiggy Jag TV. The newspaper column was released to the world, the folks at KWCH news did a piece on the TV station and myself. The Salina paper did a follow up and tried to get as much heat off this story as they could. There has been a proposed cue at Access TV between 2 members, one happens to be on the board. The week has been very interesting and once you get done reading this, wow. Will it get more interesting and I am sure I will bury some friends and former broadcast partners but I feel this has got to be said.

First things first and that is the newspaper piece, I believe in my heart of hearts that the newspaper industry is the biggest piece of crap industry and can not wait for the whole world of the newspaper to die off. Every time a newspaper goes out of business. I do a little dance and wish they whole industry would bust. They had their time in the sun and they had their time to get things going. They could have taken technology in stride but they instead with providing less content and charging more for a paper and upping advertising rates. Well the big column that has been in the works for months was supposed to come out this week. The earth shattering news piece that was gonna rip the lid off Access TV, it was going to change the face of Community TV. The piece that was going to make sweeping changes in the world of Access TV. People would lose jobs, people would have to be shown the door.

The piece came out on Wednesday and in my personal take on this, the people who wrote the column and contributed to the piece and helped bring it all to life from the paper itself to the columnist. They all should be brought up on charges for impersonating journalists and newspaper publication. This thing painted the old woman as a scared and informed old person. I among others gave them a lot of inside information that was not used. Once you read this piece, you could drive a bus threw the holes in this woman's story. The piece itself was designed to sell papers and make sure that the world got upset. Now what happened is a lot of people now know who Ninja Larry is and not just my camera man.

The folks at KWCH then got the story the next day and this woman came down to Access the day of the journal story to talk to the head of Access. The head of access was hiding and not doing damage control. However, when things presented themselves the next day, the KWCH people were met with a small army of volunteers from the Porn king Hollywood ED to the pot smoking hippie Karla. The man they did not want speaking with KWCH was in fact the man who along with the head of Access painted it in a positive light. Instead of the KWCH news person digging deeper, guess what. The story was just a distant memory.

The rumor was on Sunday the folks at the Salina paper were to do a follow up Guess what another fluff piece from our hometown newspaper. This was basically a recap of the comments posted on Salina.com and a brief statement from some flunky at the paper. The Salina Journal's last attempt at selling papers and having people read their paper instead of it's other 2 uses...{Not to inform and help the community communicate} to be packing material for breakables and birdcage liner. Now on the other hand there are several factors behind all this hub bub and that is 1 former staff member and a current board member. These 2 men are attempting something behind the scenes of this whole thing. Plus there are things that the crew at Access are attempting to pull as well. More on that later.

My view on all this, the folks at Access have painted Larry Trent and themselves as freedom of speech people. However in order for them to get this press coverage and get big time run, someone had to be suspended and had their rights violated by this promotion without any trial,etc. However, you can read that from past columns I have written. However, I think it's funny that Larry wanted to be a star then when he got it. He wanted out of the spotlight quick. I grabbed his heat and ran with it on KWCH and other venues. Access survived because of the fact the other news people did not do their job.

Finally the wrap on this issue, I am glad Access is still there, I am the biggest proponent of the idea of Access. I am glad everyone got cheap heat from Larry D to the J-i-Double G. Now before I go let me mention that I have a lot of news on what is going on behind the scenes with these 2 men but I will not drop the bomb, because I wanna see if they actually read the weekly column and get back to me on what am I saying.
