Response to Re: Mindfulness Mindset w/ NSRT backdrop

Thank you so much for the input Gavin. I've decided to just let go more and not analyze things as much. I know that a lot of this stems from my semi-perfectionist persona and it's just causing me way more anxiety then its worth.

I will mention again that i work at a call center where i have considerable down time in between calls and like to meditate during that time. I know NSRT is way too powerful and it wouldn't be a smart time at all to use this practice do to constant interruptions. However, my question is on the practice of anapana - It is a samtha practice of the concentration on the breath as the meditative object, if you will, to enhance samadhi... I apologize for my lack of knowledge of terminology, and if it is please correct my definitions, but i see samatha as a wide variety of meditation objects that lead you too samadhi. I have found that in between calls using this technique greatly enlivens and calms me. Enhances my concentration greatly and brings me into the NOW. I'm using anapana for the cause of samadhi and not vipassana. It would seem to be common sense to see them complimentary as long as the intent of the samatha practice isn't to lead to deep introspection but instead a calm awareness and a sharp mind. However, i am not a professional on this and wondering if such a practice is contradicted for a reason that is unknown to me.

Thanks again!
