Posture

How important is posture in NSR? In the manual it states that some practitioners sit in a chair or even cross legged locus position. Is the effort of sitting straight (i.e. in locus or seiza or whatever) detrimental to NSR? I feel slouched and hard of breathing when I sit leaning against a wall or in a chair - but feel better (as far as breathing goes) when kneeling in a seiza type position. Does the physical effort of sitting straight hurt the NSR technique?

Thanks,

V

BTW - did a search for 'posture' but couldn't find any clarification.
