Response to When resting...

Octet,

When we begin practicing NSR Meditation, our body enters a deep physiological state of rest and the nervous system naturally starts to dissolve the stored stresses. This produces thoughts as a side effect.

During the 2-3 minutes of silence at the end of the meditation session, the thoughts continue because the process of stress release continues as the mind gradually returns to surface-level consciousness.

During the period of silence, we continue to be innocent. We don't start trying to think or not think. We just observe whatever happens. Innocence, not manipulation, is the "technique" of NSR.

When the thoughts begin to subside after 2-3 minutes of sitting innocently, we know that we are ready to re-enter daily activity. We stretch, gradually open the eyes, and easily return to activity.
