| fcoronam,
Gavin is correct. You should lengthen the "silent period" at the end of each session. As you suggested, it is not a good idea to let stress release continue afterward into daily life. Be sure to read the rest of this forum for more tips concerning stress release.
The idea of redirecting the mind is not a good idea, since this involves individual decision-making and/or mental manipulation. NSR is all about naturalness and innocence. Any local manipulation during meditation tends to prevent transcending. Local manipulation during activity can create new stress.
Punching a pillow or screaming in a soundproof place used to be very popular techniques in pop psychology. They can provide momentary relief from negative emotions. However, since they stir up the stored stresses without actually removing them from the nervous system, they end up not helping or even increasing the stresses.
The best course to handle anger appearing after meditation will be to increase the rest period that serves as a transition from deep inner experience to the everyday level of outer activity. This will allow the process of active stress release to stop in a natural, comfortable way.
I would appreciate it if you would give us additional feedback after several weeks so we can be sure this problem is gone.
