Response to Dissolving "Stress" |
| Dear Pru Joy,
NSR Meditation provides the body with deep rest and the mind with alertness. This unique state allows the nervous system to normalize, releasing stresses. Like an onion, the stresses are arranged in layers. At any particular time, only very few of our stresses are actually being dissolved. When they are dissolved enough, then other stresses can be dissolved. That's what I mean by 'layers'.
Since this process is so systematic, eventually any particular stress will be eliminated. This includes stresses acquired during infancy.
There is no force holding the stresses in place except the stresses themselves. Another way to put this is that stresses are not normal; they are foreign to the body. This is why they are thrown off, like unwanted dirt, whenever the body and mind are allowed to enjoy transcending.
When all (or even most) of the stresses are gone, what remains is a healthy, perfectly functioning nervous system. Such functioning spontaneously results in a life lived in fulfillment, where every desire is quickly satisfied and every goal is quickly obtained. This happens not based on wishful thinking or mysticism, but on the strength that comes when we are using all of our nervous system, when the blocks to full perception, thinking, feeling, and action--the stresses--are finally gone.
