Response to after meditation

Dear Dan,

No, I have not heard of this particular experience. Many experiences that mix transcending with stress release are unique, since they depend on the specific pattern of stresses accumulated over the lifetime of the unique individual.

I would say that you are trying to make decisions about what to do during meditation. This is a mistake, since any decision will only work for the current set of stresses being released. As soon as a stress has released completely, so there is a shift in the overall pattern, experiences will change and the decision you made about what to do will be invalid and result in some strain, or may even interfere with transcending.

This is why our instructions only include what is necessary and will be valid no matter what the pattern of stress release might be.

I know the temptation to observe what is happening and to adjust the procedure accordingly is very great, but the best advice I can give you is to follow the NSR manual and let go of this temptation. Innocence is absolutely necessary for long-term success.
