Response to A feeling of "rocking"

Dear Pru Joy,

It isn't completely clear to me whether these experiences happened during meditation or during activity. You wrote, "occasionally in a session," which I'm going to assume meant that ALL of the experiences you described happened within sessions.

That being the case, these would simply be signs of stress release, which means your meditation is effective (you are currently using CMR?).

If these experiences are repeating in each session, then it is a large stress which is taking many sessions to release completely. I'm sure you will feel a great relief when it is finally gone.

I was particularly struck by "a feeling in the pit of my stomach", because, of course, that is not a description of a feeling at all, but a location in the body.

Usually, the phrase "pit of the stomach" refers to feelings of dread or fear. Does this accord with your experience? Are there feelings of dread or fear? This would be a particularly good release of stress, because once all fear has been eliminated, it doesn't return. What freedom, to live life free from fear! This alone makes turning within twice a day worthwhile as a permanent part of one's daily routine.

Thank you for sharing your good experiences of stress release with us.

Today I am off to join a group visiting with Gangaji (Toni Roberson), a woman who shows all the signs of being free from stress, living in fulfillment and bliss http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cdshiy7CrwA). I'm sure I will have a great time and that this visit will inspire me to do a better job advocating for NSR Meditation.
