Anxiety

Hi!

I have really been enjoying my NSR so far. I was on my 5th session this morning, and I noticed a LOT of anxiety during the session. I did what the manual instructed in that I just returned to the syllable and noticed the experience. Could it be that I'm clearing this anxiety during the session?

I also kept having thoughts about whether this type of meditation was good for me, or harmful... but I just kept returning gently to the syllable.. so I think I'm doing it right... any thoughts?

Guy

Stress release

Guy,

You are correct that your feelings and thoughts during meditation are the result of the process of stress release. Many postings here explore that topic in greater detail. Try using the Search feature near the top of the page.

We don't mind whatever happens during meditation if our life is improving outside of meditation. We rest in order to enjoy better activity, like an archer drawing back the arrow in order to shoot it forward, or the architect building basements downward to anchor a building reaching high into the sky.
