We are a group of friends who have come together because we share the common bond of caring for someone who has Trisomy 21. We are here to share therapy tips, medical issues, laughs, accomplishments and yes, even frustrations. We embrace what Trisomy 21 has brought into our lives. We feel that it has taught us to appreciate the true meaning of life. We count our children as blessings! We will fiercely protect them and fight for their lives to be valued just as all other peoples' are. We share our pictures, our stories and our hearts here not only to provide friendship and support for each other, but also in the hopes that others will open their minds and their hearts to our unique children and, in turn, make a better world for everyone.

Hey Girls! I'm coming out to play...

And I'm writing down my start weight, as of today, so I can track my progress.

Start weight 182lbs.
1st goal 172lbs by May 24
2nd goal 165 by June 30
Ultimate goal 155

I'm not really sure my 1st and 2nd goals are attainable or not. I'm not very good at losing weight, but I'm finally in the mindset to try, try, try!

Welcome back Vicki! So glad you have decided to come to play! It is always nice having a bunch of support and we give it herehttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v151/MommyKatrina/T21/cheerleader.gif
I think your goals are attainable, but I think that you will be stressed trying to get there and well, stress for me = eating. I decided in Jan. to set my goal at 5 pounds a month - Jan. I did just that and then I have added 4 more onto that. So since Jan. I have lost 9 pounds. So if you are calculating, no that isn't 5 pounds a month by any stretch of the imagination, but I am pleased with what I have done and what I am doing. The important thing is I have kept that 5 pounds off with no problem which means I did right. I didn't cut out any food completely, satisfied all my cravings and didn't feel stressed about hitting a bit too high of a goal. People are starting to tell me I look like I am losing wieght. If you break it into lower increments you are more likely to reach them and in a healthy way that you can continue doing forever. KWIM??? If you do that, you'll still hit your goal around September and you can start the school year as 'one hot momma'! At any rate, welcome back and good luck - do it to relax and feel better, not to feel stressed and deprive yourself of anything
