It seems as though there are a number of differing opinions and revisionism regarding our heritage. However, very little of this is truly known to Americans. It's always ITALIAN, ITALIAN, ITALIAN, etc. "Italian-American." That is why we want to introduce the terms "Padanian-American" and "Padanoamericano." Lombardia gets confused with Langbard, and "Celtic" is here usually associated with Ireland and Scotland, rather being inclusive to its roots in continental Europe. Also, "Northern Italian" is needed as a reference point. We have to do what is pragmatic for us here, as opposed to many decades of propaganda. It would not be an exaggeration to state that many Americans associate "Italian" with the extremes of positive and negative, due to the failure, many centuries ago, to secure a separate geographical Nation. I do not believe that people like Carlo Cattaneo envisioned an "Italy." Padania, Ticino/Grigioni, Istria, Nizza, Savoia, ALL should have been part of the same Nation exclusively. All we can do is try to take care of what needs to be accomplished in this land. We would like to be known by Leaguists in Padania. For example, in this part of North America, we had our own districts at one time, in San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, Monterey, Pittsburg (all in California), Portland (Oregon), Walla Walla (Washington), and other places. We are like a forgotten people.
