Eurovision - Steve does a brief interview on Radio Wales

July 7 2004, 2:56 PM

Yes, Steve did co-write the French entry for this year's Eurovision held in Istanbul. It was entitled "A Chaque Pas" and was sung by the winner of the French equivalent to "Pop Idol" - Jonatan Cerrada.

The additional track on the single for "A Chaque Pas" is entitled "I Still Believe" which uses the same music as the Eurovision song, but has different English lyrics, which were written by Steve. (not a translation of the French, but a different set of lyrics)

And coincidentally, a friend of Steve's and fellow Welshman, James Fox, performed the UK's entry "Hold on to Our Love". It captured the interest of Radio Wales DJ Kevin Hughes, who went to Istanbul to make a documentary about James and his Eurovision experience.

Steve was briefly interviewed by Kevin in this, and the documentary was aired this past Saturday on Radio Wales - but if you missed it, you can catch Steve's comments to Kevin by using the "listen again" feature on the BBC's website, which is:

http://www.bbc.co.uk

and then follow the links for BBC Radio, Radio Wales, Listen again, and the name of the documentary was "Turkish Delight".

If you want to hear it, it might be best to listen this week as I believe they only repeat these on demand for a week usually.

Regards,
NeeCee :)
