Alan & Eric Together Again?November 10 2005 at 3:51 AM | estelle (Login estelled) |
| Hello Eric,
I was so happy when I read on Alan Parsons' website that you and he may work together again on a musical full of Alan Parsons Project songs. Then I read something from his mailing list which really brought my spirits down. Your official spokesperson on the list, Aart Neinhous, relayed the following message from you:
"Just spoke to Eric on the phone and he told me there are absolutely no plans between Alan and Eric to work together again. Eric didn't know the message on Alan's site, but assured me he never ever talked with Alan about working together on a musical thing and made damn sure to me that it will never happen too.
kind regards,
Aart "
It is a pity to hear such harsh words about what was once the greatest musical team. I do hope that there is such a musical someday, it would be such a beautiful thing.

Sorry but ...
If a big producer comes to you, Eric, and/or to Alan saying "I want to produce a big musical with old APP tunes from a selection of all the albums, with no need of new pieces to write" would you say "No thanks, because I don't wanna do anything with Alan more" ??
I don't think so, and I hope you don't think so. |

... On Roadkill I've read that is not true that there's no hope for Eric to collaborate with Alan on something someday ever. Sorry for the hardness of my previous post.
At this point I want to specify that I will be forever grate for any EW new album or AP new album or APP new project. I love the authors ... working together or not. But, sure, a new collaboration would make my eyes wet and make me smile. |

I believe I posted something that can be read in different ways. Perhaps a misunderstanding from my literal translations or whatever. Every word about work between Eric and Alan that is quoted from my message on Roadkill, must be seen as reaction to the news on Alan's website. Eric didn't read it and didn't know about it and made clear that what's on Alan's website will not happen.
That doesn't necessarily mean that Eric is not open for any future collaboration with Alan. I never intended to say that, but I guess you can indeed read it that way. I'm sorry that this was not clear enough.
with kind regards,
Aart |
