| What a day! That's how I will start this one off since it was more like two days beginning around noon in a pretty cold and semi-rainy Holland. Arriving on the scene, people were already all over the place and the bass was blasting from all the different stages and tents, mostly techy or trancey stuff, but after follwing the sound of funkier beats, we found the Armada stage where Mishca Daniels was spinning. Being prepared for all kinds of festival madness, I brought CDs only for this one and once up in the booth I saw poor man's slipmats flying away and pick ups jumping in the wind. I played for two hours and it was really cool, only two short blasts of rain, but most of the crowd stayed around. Didn't have time to check Deep Dish because of my UK flight so we left straight after the gig. Chilled for a few hours in London and then off to The Cross where Axwell was playing. He was very entertaining and played a really cool set sounding like his latest productions. The vibe was incredible in the club, even better than the last time and I got off to a flying start and just played on for three hours. I had been told to stop at 5.30, but played to 6.10 since no one wanted to leave - Amazing night, the best so far this year. Biggest tunes on for me on DV were the 'Everybody' edit, Reflekt and System F. At The Cross Axwell's mix of Roger Sanchez blew the place away, but Silsonik and Who's Who caused similar reactions - Dirty M***fuckaz!!!!

As it is probably obvious to the regular readers of this forum, that i get to see Stonet play quite alot. Most of the time this is down to me driving him around the country. But this visit was driving free, and what a nighr we had.
The Cross is an amazing place, dark, sweaty, sticky, just the way a club should be. The crowd were going for it when we arrived, with Axwell rocking the place. When Stones started, the crowd just went to another level. To say they like the dirtier side of house would be an understatment, and boy did Stoney provide it.
This was the best set i have ever seen him place, everything just worked. Thr vrnur, the people and 'Of Course' the DJ.
Can't wait for the return to The Cross |
