Happy New Year everybody and here's the first report from down under. The weather has been the hottest recorded in history and I can't say that has been a problem
The first show in Parramatta was always a bit of an oddball and even though it's a suburb just 40 min away from Sydney, it was more like another city. The club itself is not bad with a terrace and a main room, but the sound left much to be desired and it felt more like an afternoon party on Ibiza. Luckily, the Australian/UK forum posse joined me and we had a great time anyway. Five days and many beaches later it was time for the big one. Fatboy did Bondi Beach just outside our hotel and it was packed, Roger did Home so I was worrying a bit about the numbers, but it was packed - good job. I always find the Australian crowds really clued up and up for it and Tank was no exception. Great set and vibe in the room. Especially the more dirty b-lines like that Silsonik one (actually mixed by a couple of guys from Melbourne). The day after I returned to Family in Brisbane for my second gig there and I have to say that this is probably the best club in the whole country. The sound and booth is just unreal and the crowd there is off the rocker. They love dirty trashy disco and once I got them going it wouldn't stop. Jack did a good job after getting into some Steve Angello stuff. Now I'm in New Zealand and it feels like being in Sweden. Very nice nature, but a bit cooler than Australia. More on that next week.
