After a generous 2 day stop over at home, I arrived in Bangkok and after hearing rumours about a shanty town, dirty and loud I can now reveal that it’s super clean, all modern and amazing (not to mention cheap). Bed Supperclub is very similar to the Amsterdam original, but built from ground up as a club and it looks like a huge cylinder from the outside - all white and cool on the inside. As often in Asia, there were two rooms, one hip hop/R&B and one house, but I got the main room with the better system (sound system obsession time again). DJ Shane, who booked me and hooked me up in Gran Canaria last year, did the warm up and the vibe was great. The local swedish contingent was there and so were a lot of UK people so it felt very international and even though it ended early (1AM for clubs in Bangkok) it was a great night.

Flew out to Sydney the next day to hook up with my Australia based UK posse, Neil, Lucy, Dom & Co for a meal in a very funky restaurant and then off to Plantation in Kings Cross. Have never been in this area before and without going into great detail, it’s mad and very much like Reeperbahn in Hamburg (red light district). The club is more of a bar with a dance floor and it was pretty full on early - not so much musically, but general excitement. As I went on I discovered that the warm up guy had everything maxed out already so I couldn’t make an impression that way, but after a couple of tracks it was happening. Also hooked up with Kuperman from My Space and Jack came over so it was a fun night even though the gig wasn’t that memorable.

Onward to Auckland and New Zealand where I was last in January and this party in a vineyard. After a 40 min ferry ride, we got to the Waiheke island where a mini van was waiting and the venue rep said: you know how to get there, right? and gave us the car - you gotta love New Zealand! I got there pretty early because of the boat thing so I had a chance to listen to the cream of Auckland’s DJs and I have to say that it amazed me how funky both the DJs and the crowds are here. It was on fire from 7.30 until 12 and it could easily have continued another 5 hours, but the last ferry leaves at 12.30. The next day I was hanging out with NZ’s main man, Jolyon and his collection of stuff from Hong Kong before shooting off to Brisbane.

Brisbane has become a regular and this was my third in Family, which is propbably the best club in Australia and I love it to bits. I’ve been really lucky on this tour with my peeps showing up everywhere and this was no exeption, Hed Kandi’s former booker, Dan Force’s brother came down, my biggest fan in Bris, Warwick + of course the lovely Neroli, who is one of the residents. I went on after Inaya Day, who did a really good show that put some faith back in to live Pas for me. It was pretty mad from the go with Funky Town and Carey’s dub of Scape which is a new favourite. That DJ Sender dub of Switch On Push Play is so hot right now too. Thank you everyone for making it a really cool tour and I will be back before too long.
