The year’s first trip to Amsterdam started in style at the classic club Escape that has been around as far as I can remember. I was very surprised at how cool they had decorated it and the crowd. Very funky and not the usual ‘funky with attitude’ (which I love) you get in Amsterdam. And the set was only one hour, which is way too short. Just as I was ready to really rock it, it was over. Had a local crew with Vink, Klaas, Lara and Diane - great night!.

Next day we woke up in amazing sunshine and since we were driving to Belgium, we couldn’t really ask for more. Lier is really a suburb of Antwerp so we decided to stay there. Beatiful place - recommended. My set was late so we drove there in the middle of the night, through deserted villages and then right in the middle of a field, the club. It was a fairly electroey vibe in the room so I decided to go a bit funky at first and then see how far I could take it. Nick from the station that broadcasts my mix show was there with a couple of friends. Should have had a bunch of you guys with me too. Good night, I will go back there since they are trying (and succeeding) to breal house in a bigger way in Belgium.
