Stockholm weekend again and this time it all started on the Thursday with Joey doing the big warm up for the weekend at Solidaritet and me doing a special event for Mercedes Benz in the sister venue, Hotellet. As these things go, people were more into the free bar than upfront house music, but I got them moving to Robin S and the St Tropez favourite Destination Calabria (Calabria was only discovered here in 2006, while I played it to death back in the Hed Kandi days). I went down to Solidaritet to check Joey’s gig and it was proper funky house and a floor full of stunning girls - way to go!

After picking up DJ Santito from the airport and another classic entrecote et vin rouge in Hotellet, we went down to Solidaritet to perform a bit of guerilla tactics before the venue opened. Having learnt that the crowd love to stand in the yard and smoke all night, we had a 50+ guest list of proper clubbers to make sure the dance floor was jumping and prinited set times that we put everywhere in the club. What a massive difference! It was a classic Stockholm night with Joey taking it to pumping funky and Santito to slightly darker territories and me finishing the whole thing off in style with a nice 3 hour set. I so enjoyed it and I think we might be onto something big in this club as the booth will move to the yard for open air swedish summer nights, true Ibiza stylee

The day after the Stockholm night is always a bit of a chore even though there were no Mojitos this time (we did give Santitio a bundle though). We flew into London and drove up to Hull which is a 4 hour trip and downed a curry before getting to Déjà vu - my longest standing UK regular gig that I’ve done since Allister Whitehead brought me there in 2000. The club is really cool and keeps getting better every year even though the glam factor has been replaced by a more underground feel now. It was a very well educated crowd, who knew every new track played, which is cool. The Robin S went down a storm as expected, but ‘Unbelievable’ and ‘What Is What’ moved them too. Actually, the floor was full the whole time - wicked night. Now off to Canada for a mad 5 date tour.

Had a blast friday night Stone, really appreciate what you are doing for the club scene here in Stockholm. It's well needed! Have to admit I fell asleep around 4 o'clock in the bar, it was a long and hard night
But you really ripped it up and played dirty and nice, can't wait till next time!
