Back in Canada and Montreal again for the second time this year. It was the Grand Prix weekend that I have been told is the biggest event of the year and it was indeed a buzz going on. The club, 1234, is co owned by Quebec’s ‘Pete Tong’, MC Mario and you could tell the club was done by a DJ. Sound and booth really good. Unfortunately, there were many parties on this night and it wasn’t that busy, but I had a chance to play through some new stuff and hang out with the crew; Gino, Gino and Antonio from the label, One of the Big Bass guys, Pierre and some other friends. After a quick flight back to London, I got ready for one of my last if not the last who at the Cross, which sadly will close later this year. It was a phenomenal night and I have a lot of friends coming down including Joey, Neil, Cass, Dyonne, Jack McCord, Tara McDonald, Carl Ryden and Peo + other people I’ve seen every time I’ve played there. If you haven’t been to this club, you have to before it’s over - legendary. The set started with the new Vito Benito that I will pick up for Stoney Boy and then bits of the latest Sirius tunes, Then I decided to try Rob Boskamp’t new tune, wich uses the formula from ‘Jump’ and slows down to some proper Hip Hop mayhem with a 3 song mash up that lasts for about 2 minutes. Man, that shit went off bigtime to my surprise, great record! Great weekend and now I have a free weekend to catch up on remixes, there will be a massive amount of new ones coming out soon.
