The tour started with a gig in Kaunas, Lithuania I was supposed to do in March, that had to be rescheduled because of a cancelled flight. One of my fans, Freak, was in the club that night and he told me that as I was announced anyway and someone not very StoneBridge looking guy with sunglasses had filled in for me playing 3 really old funky house tracks followed by hard electro - cheers! A shame clubs do this and as they had put this down as my second visit on the flyers, the club wasn’t that full. Luckily, Freak and his friends really got it going by cheering and clapping through the set - thank you guys, you saved the night.

Next day I flew to London and the legendary Pacha. The last one I did was a studio 54 night one or two years ago and before then, two Friday night sets for another promoter so I was ready for a full on Saturday glam session. The décor was fantastic like the old Hed Kandi Disco Heaven parties back in 2003. I had an early slot, but the club was already getting full at 11 so it was rocking from the go. I kept it funky as I felt the vibe in the place was so happy and it brought a lot memories back. Great night and a pretty massive crew of Neil and Cass’s friends, my old original Hed Kandi booker Nic, Ben & wife and Chris B from Future Music.

Rock & Roll and onwards to Calgary, which is always a good show to do. This time it was a new venue called Snatch (which is very hard for English speaking people to say as it means…well, you figure that one out) and with a promoter I haven’t worked fort before called Thomas Lynch, who also is a fashion designer. You could tell that these guys are in fashion as the club looked stunning and the crowd was stylish. Tara McDonald started with a 3 song live PA that went down so well - she’s great - and then I took over with the floor heaving and I ended up playing an extra hour. GO CANADA! The following day, the promoter invoited us to his parents for a Thanksgiving dinner, a first for me and Tara and we don’t celebrate this in Sweden or UK.

After having chilled and scouted locations for an event for a few days in LA it was time for San Francisco. The first thing we did after touchdown was to visit Energy 92.7 for a quick interview and mix on air. You gotta respect and support these guys, who are one of the few dance-only stations in the US - keep it up! San Francisco is very special to me and I’ve done three gigs in Ruby Skye over the past 3 years. Now they have a new space called Slide under the club and legend has it that it was one of those illegal speakeasies where you could drink during the prohobition times in the US. The club is invite only so the crowd is more or less handpicked and I could tell as they were all really into the music. I could even spot a couple of celebrities - woohoo, the glamour! Great night and solid floor until the very end. Had my local crew there of course, Mauricio and his pals and Donny from LA. Really good night.

Another couple of flights later I arived in West Palm Beach, FL to hook up with Funky Junction and the Gryphon. As I have written here before, it’s part of the Hard Rock Resort in Hollywood, FL - a place that has its own laws as it’s an Indian reservation. It’s a mad place that I recommend visit if you’re in Miami or Ft Lauderdale. I decided to spend the entire night in the club to see it build over 8 hours. Funky Junction started very smooth and gradually built a solid vibe. It was pretty much packed at midnight so he kicked it up a notch and had a serious peak time vibe going as I took over at 1.30. Then the hours just flew away and all of a sudden it was 6 AM and the lights went on. Man, this club is just unreal and one of the best ones I know right now. The crowd is not pretentious, but still well educated after two years of Funky Junction treatment. Wicked wicked night and tour as a whole. Met a lot of old and new pals along the way in four countries and six cities - has to be done again next year!
