Question for Stoney...

Hey, I really like your "Close to Heaven" track. I have a question about the bassline of the track. What synthesizer did you use for it? Is it the Studio Electronics SE-1? How exactly did you create that note slide effect on the last measure of the bassline. Here is a sample clip: http://www.speedyshare.com/937440112.html
Are you playing with the pitch wheel? Playing with Portamento? I would really like to learn how its done. Any help would be appreciated.

*Hope for a screenshot of the pianoroll

Raul, I definately used the ATC-1 for this bass line and the sound has a little slide (portamento) to it so I just put the last two notes really close and worked with the lengths of the notes until it was swinging right. I had serious problems with the sub of the sound when I mixed and think I processed it at least 4 times before it worked. IF I remember correctly, it was the Waves SSL EQ that finally made it happening. Will dig out the midifile and double check, but pretty sure this was how I did it. Now I'm working with Arturia's Mini Moog, even beats Trilogy for bass

Thanks for the quick reply. I have been trying to get it as close as possible but I haven't really nailed it yet. I have turned up the portamento like you mentioned. Here is a sample of what I managed to come up with using Fabfilter One: http://www.speedyshare.com/803848232.html

Here is a screenshot of the piano roll:

Any luck finding the midi/piano roll? I am really curious as to how it looks. I still haven't figured it out.

Guys, It took a while to get it up, but here it is. I remember spending ages on this and as you see, it's not only pitch bend, but different levels and lenghts on all notes. You have to be patient and spend time adjusting it until it swings right. The pitch bend is too heavy for soft synths as it's made with the ATC-1 set to a low pitch wheel value.
