As the credit crunch (silly name, but that's what they call it) is affecting clubland in the UK and US, Sweden seems to be going the other way. I haven't been this busy in Sweden in years - if ever. And the gigs are always great as people are starved for proper events in the smaller cities. After a very short 40 minute flight I touched down in sunny Sundsvall, which is pretty much the middle of Sweden, but we call it way up north. Joakim, the promoter, picked me up and we had a great chat about the state of things, then checked the venue, which was a lot bigger than I expected. In the afternoon I did an in store promo, basically playing a one hour set in Jack & Jones in the centre. I always find it weird to play for a non dancing crowd, but it was fun.

Around midnight, the club started to fill up and I took it easy in the beginning to see what they were into. One girl said; gotta be a lot harder and a minute later a guy said; this is gay house that I listen to in my car - play something vocal! Man, you just gotta laugh and not take it too seriously. After about an hour, the differences seemed to be settled and the vibe was great. The last hour was absolutely amazing. This is a great event and I really hope the guys will keep it going as I would love to come back in spring!
