Malta is a little island & country just outside Sicily which is part of the European Union. People don't know that much about this country so I will give you a quick run down as I find it very intriguing. When the templar knight were kicked out of Jerusalem they fled to Rhodes, but got kicked out from there as well by the Turks so they had to find a new place and they bumped into Malta and made it their new base from the 1500's to the 1800's when Napoleon took it without protest from the by then rather tired knights. Then the British came in two years later and made it a colony and had it until 1964 when it became independent. There's heaps of older history as well, but these are the modern basics. I've been here once before, but only for one night so it was cool to hang out for 4 days and see some more. The weather was great too so no complaints there.
When it came to the gig, everything was done the right way; massive posters on all major roads, radio promo and J&B sponsorship. The venue, Amazonia, was absolutely amazing and by the beach so you could hear the waves crashing in below and see the coast. Something must have gone wrong though as the same thing that happened last time happened all over again - A very VIP type of crowd that only moved to very big tunes. Not that I mind it that much, it's entertainment after all, but after last weeks legendary ADE it was a bit of a come down I have to admit. Lasted the whole set and had two encores so it was pretty good though considering.
