Julie Cooper said that line and she, obviously, is someone who is obsessed with being seen as only the rich woman with the rich husband who lives in the posh area. Jimmy does say "So? You are from Riverside" because he doesn't find anything wrong with it since it's the truth and there is nothing wrong with being from Riverside. Don't take offence, it's only the unliked characters (ie. Julie & her blond friend at the coffee shop) who talk in such crude ways.
