"Alex" - My adopted son

Hi everyone.

I have seen some questions concerning adoption posted and I wish that I could answer them for you, but my adoption was different. It was a private adoption with a single mother with 2 other children. Alex was 12mos when we got him. The bio mother called on a thurs. night about 8:00pm and she brought him to us at 8:30. That was two years ago and I've had him ever since. I wasn't even expecting to get him. I knew that he was about to be adopted by another couple that was extremely poor without the means or knowledge to raise a child. Alex came from a terrible sitituation and I thank God that we had the opportunity to have him.

Alex never knew his biological parents. Noone knows who the father is, and his bio mother is deceased. She died about 5 mos ago (seizure). The cost of the adoption was approx. $1500.00 . Lawyer fees and all. The adoption was completely final 4 weeks after We got him.

I thought when I got him that my life was complete. I do wish and desire another child, but if Alex is all that God will grace me with, Thats fine.

I want a biological daughter, not son. I do not wish for Alex to feel threathened by a biological son.

Alex is truely the light of my life. Its like God knew that this baby was about to be motherless and he made everything happen just perfect with the adoption.

Like I said earlier, This adoption was not typical, so I don't have alot of info. to share.
