I was told by my RE anything over 10 is normal and means ovulation occurred. Normally Progesterone serums are drawn about 7 days after ovulation occured.
Regarding getting your hopes up, I know what you mean. I learned my lesson the very first month I was on Clomid. I didn't know very much about infertility, Clomid, etc... and I was really putting a lot on the line by trusting my gyno. (who doens't know squat when it came to infertility) When she first drew my Progesterone level, it was 24! She told me anythiing over 20 was a strong indication of a pregnancy! I was estatic!!!!!! I went out and bought a cute card for my husband and a ton of baby stuff to wrap up to give him when I told him he was going to be a daddy....
Well that stuff I bought, still sits in a white box in my dresser drawer, 9 months later. I wasn't pregnant, that Prog. level of 23 meant nothing but I ovulated and was producing a very good level of progesterone.
So my moral of the story for me from now on is, before I get excited like that ever again, I better be holding about 10 positive pregnancy tests in my hand!
(ha ha)
But, the level you had is good~ and the fact you ovulated is great!!!!!!!! So hang in there, I know how much the 2ww stinks. But it will be over, I am in the tail end of mine now, as I wait for AF to arrive.
