Metaformin/glucophage is actually a diabetic medication. It helps stabilize insulin levels. It also makes it easier for the egg to leave the ovary. My dr said it softens the membranes. My first af on metaformin was rough. I thought I would bleed to death. I called them and they said that it was doing its job. So I guess it helps keep you cleaned out too. I hated it. Diahrea and extreme tiredness may be a curse of this drug. It was me for about 3 months. I dont have any side affects now tho. Good luck!
