Hi there mommy 2 b?

I read your post to Nancy cause I too have been wondering about you. Wow, 13 weeks!!! I thought you were somewhere around there. You must be still on cloud 9, as I noticed your u/s is scheduled on the 9th?
(hee hee) That day is also my little brothers birthday, he'll be 17. =) It's a great day all around!

I have to interject my opion, as a nurse who works in OB, I am soooo glad you opted not to have the amnio. I know it's supposed to be a "99%" risk free thing, but I have seen many a heartache from a miscarriage related to infection or permature rupture of the membranes (water bag) from an amnio. I know I will never have one, I totally agree with your opinon. I will accept what ever God gives me. And to jepordize a baby I have waited and worked so hard for is scary.
Anyhow, I hope I didn't say too much, I was just happy to see you were just doing the AFP. =)

Soon you'll be feeling the baby moving and before you know it buying maturnity clothes! I can't wait to hear what you are having a beautiful boy or a glamorous girl! =)

Love Donna

I completely agree about the

amnio. So, you definitely did not say too much.
We are completely at ease about the decision.

I realized yesterday that it is now time for new clothes. I hate that it's Christmas time and I have to spend $$ on me. I am a big shopper so I should have no problem finding a few good bargains. I hate retail!!!

I will definitely let you know what we are having. My step-daughter (13) wants a baby sister. We picked her up for our family pics on Friday and she tells me--with a frown--that it's going to be a boy. I asked why she thought that and she said that she baked pink cupcakes and blue cupcakes and the blue ones not only looked better but they tasted better too!! Thus her reasoning for a boy! It was so cute.

Have a great day!
Love,
Rhonda

Hi Rhonda,

I want you know that I truly admire and respect your feelings about not having an Amnio. I never thought that I would ever have one until my AFP came back abnormal. Everyone told me that AFP tests have false positives and not to worry.I'm 29 years old and didn't have any reason to worry. Well, needless to say I was heart broken to find out by sono that our baby had a severely bad heart and downs syndrome. I didn't even have an opoortunity to think about the Amnio. We had it done right on the spot and found out that the sono was correct. You are a very special person. I almost wish I didn't know that my baby was so sick. I do know what it is like to work with a child with special needs b/c I'm a teacher. It is hard and I knew I couldn't do it. Also, the Drs didn't even know if I would make it to full term.

Well, I just wanted to wish you the best of luck and I'm sure that everything will be okay. You and DH must follow your heart and each descision you make will be great.

I'm sorry that I went on and on. I get very emotional with this subject. I can't wait to hear about the baby's gender. I'm on round 2 of clomid, CD 18.

Give your belly a little rub for me.
Love,
Nancy
