Hi Rhonda,

This is my second cycle of clomid 50mg days 5-9. Last month I started clomid and got AF after 29 days. The month before I wasn't on clomid and my body was bouncing back from the termination and I got AF on day 36. Today is day 31, no AF and I did a HPT test this morning and it was negative. This month every thing got screwed up b/c my grandfather passed away I'm not sure when I o'd. Anyway, I going to call my doctor today and ask if can increase clomid to 100mg. What do you think? It seems as though I can never catch a break. I need AF to come in order to start my clomid again. I would really appreciate your advice.

Love,
Nancy

I am also sorry to hear about your Grandfather. It's never easy to lose a loved one.

Are you seeing an RE or an OB/GYN? An RE is a better choice because they tend to be a bit more aggressive. What I have learned is that most Dr's will do 3 months on Clomid before trying other things. I would definitely recommend that you request an u/s to see how many follicles you are producing. (If I am not mistaken you don't usually have one-or am I wrong?) It is really important to know that it's working. I also know that they can tell if you O'd by a cd21 P4 test but I always felt better knowing how many follies were there.

If you feel you are ready, I would ask for a higher dose and possibly IUI. I know so many girls who got pregnant in their first 3 cycles on clomid but they were closely monitored and did IUI's.

Another thing to consider, Clomid can make your cycle longer. It only did once to me but many girls experience that.

One of the things that are also done are a post coital test. After bd'ing you go in for an exam and they test to see if there are any live "swimmers" still there. I had none (also had big cm problems while on Clomid) which is why we went to IUI.

Do not be afraid to tell your Dr what you want. I hope this helps. If I think of anything else I will let you know.

Good luck.
Love,
Rhonda

ps-(if you don't mind) what is your email address? Mine is rconaway@helpmates.com.
