Hi everyone, I am brand new to this website and also CLOMID. I just started reading all the info and am so thankful for all the awesome info!! I started CLOMID last week (day 3-7) and now I am on day 10. Noticed last night that my CM was so dry. We tried early for BMS and failed due to the fact I was so dry and it hurt me inside. I will run and get the Robutussin this AM! Also, although I just started CLOMID my RE also wants to do IUI's with the CLOMID for 3 mos (since my DH sperm's motility is borderline). Do most people do IUI's with CLOMID or just CLOMID alone first. We have been trying for about 1 year (I am almost 35) and for some reason, not been successful. Let me know your thoughts!! Thx!!! Good luck to all!

Doing IUI's with Clomid is a gooood idea! =)

Welcome Karen!

I hope your stay is short and sweet. Doing IUI's with clomid is a very good idea, espeically if your DH's sperm is borderline. My DH's morphology was borderline and we did 3 cycles of IUI with Clomid.
I finally had to move onto the injectables, but did get pregnant with IUI and the injectables. =)

IUI is very helpful because of 2 things from what my RE told me.

First off, they will take your DH's sample, and spin it in a speical liquid. That will assist the more healthier sperm to the top of the liquid, and they will inject that into the uterus with a tiny catheter.
And that's the second benifit, is that the sperm get to the egg faster.

Sometimes, Clomid can dry up cervical mucus. And that mucus is very importnant to facilitating the passage of the sperm into the vagina and through the cervix.
(they need it to swim in it) And with IUI the sperm completely "bypass" the cervix making it easier for them to reach the egg. =)

I used an ovulation predictor kit and called my doctor the day of my surge, and they did IUI that day and the day after. The IUI itself is very easy, much like a pap smear. It's very quick and fairly comfortable. I am the worse baby in the world when it comes to pain, and I thought it wasn't bad at all. (ha ha)

Goooood luck and I hope this works for you!

Take care,

Donna

Hi Donna, Thanks so much for your information!! I really appreciate it and have learned a lot on this website. I hope all is still going well with you!! I have just been overwhelmed with everything lately. Glad to hear the IUI was not bad, I am a big baby too. Did your DH go along with you when you got it done? Thanks again and I look forward to talking to you all again. It is just amazing how infertility seems to be so common these days..I have 3 friends now doing IVF!! Good luck to all!!

Sounds like you have a good RE!

Welcome Karen! I think it's great that they will be doing IUI's instead of having you BD for the first 3 months. It seems to me like it saves a lot of time!
Just keep in mind that ttc is a process. And each month will bring you closer to your dream. Hopefully you will be one of the lucky one's who will get pg right away

Good luck!
Love,
Rhonda
