| Hi all -- I just heard from a friend who struggled with infertility. She's pregnant from IUI this month. I was really happy to hear that and I wanted to share this with you since I know so few people for whom IUI worked (hopefully I'll be one of them!) She was on Clomid too. Amy |

Hi Amy,
I so happy to hear that!! I'm going crazy right now. I still didn't get my period. I did have some cramping on Friday, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up. I will test on Tuesday if I don't get AF. How many IUI cycles did your friend have? I have a girlfriend who got pregnant from 2 rounds of IUI and 100mg of clomid. I know it does work, the key is all about timing. Good Luck!! I'm praying really hard for the both of us.
What did your RE direct you to do about testing if you are pregnant? I will be 13 days post IUI tomorrow and I'm so tempted, but I will wait.
Love,

| Nancy....you have me waiting on pins and needles =) | March 17 2003, 9:20 AM |
Hi!
Gosh you self control is good! I tested 12 days past my IUI, I couldn't wait anylonger. (ha ha) I used EPT and it showed up pretty quick. Although the line was very faint, it was still there. I'd say so far, no AF and cramping is a good sign. I hope to see a ++++ post from you very soon. You are in my thoughts and prayers as I wait with you!!
Take care,
Donna
Ps: I had cramping a week before I tested, and I felt nothing else. Didn't even have sore boobes, nothing.
Just the cramping, so I got discouraged thinking AF was coming. I hope your cramping is a gooood thing! |

| That is how I feel ! I'm afraid to test | March 17 2003, 9:37 AM |
Hi Donna,
I home from work today b/c I don't feel well. I have a cold, sore throat and a headache. Also, I just couldn't go into work today know ing that AF could be on the way. I am so nervous I'm going crazy. I'm afraid to know. I want this so bad and I don't want to be disappointed. I will go out this afternoon and just buy a test and take it when I wake up in the morning. My husband is working tonight so he won't be home when I do the test. I guess I'm waiting for AF to come so I won't be disappointed. It is hard for me to believe that I could get pregnant on my first IUI attempt. I will just have to wait and see.
How are you feeling?
Thanks for the prayers.
Love,
Nancy |

| Nancy! We're behind ya.....+ or - | March 17 2003, 11:19 AM |
Hi there,
I felt exactly the same way. Holding onto the hope is sometimes better than knowing, but I usually cave in.
My will power isn't great. (ha ha) My biggest fear was the HCG trigger shot I had gotten before our IUI's. I was afraid of a false positive. But I was told by my RE and everyone else, that the HCG goes away by 6-7 days after it's given. Plus, like you I really doubted I would conceive from my first IUI/Injectable cycle. After being told that the meds won't work, and I'd need IVF, I felt like we were "going through the motions". I really was shocked when I got a +hpt. And I didn't even get excited, I was waiting to make sure it would double.
Anyhow, you can bet I'll be checking this board again and again, I am dying to know as well. But remember, + or - we are here for you, you're not alone. And, it does take some more than one IUI. The good thing is you ovulated, and your p4 was awesome! Everything is in place, it's just up to God now. When the time is right, He'll bless you with a baby. =) Stay encouraged.

| Prosterone Results | March 17 2003, 4:07 PM |
Hi Nancy,
Still no AF? I have about a week more to wait. My doctor didn't tell me anything about when to test, but I've been hurt by testing too early before, so I think this time I'll really wait (God willing, I'll have a reason to wait!) My friend got pregnant on her 2nd round of IUI with 50 mg of clomid.
I got my progesterone results today -- 57.6, one week after the IUI! This is the highest I've ever been. I don't want to get my hopes up but it's really hard.
Let me know. You're in my prayers.
Love,
Amy |

| Amy, your P4 was awesome! | March 17 2003, 5:53 PM |
I hope to see a ++++ from both you and Nancy! You go girl. I'll be waiting and keeping you both in my prayers. I got prego from IUI with a less than 5% chance, so it does happen. I hope this is your month, keep your chin up and stay busy!

Donna,
Thanks for your note. I'm keeping my optimism in check since I've seen so much disappointment already.
I'm thinking about you. Am I right that you know you're having a boy? I think I read that on the boards.
Love,

| I hope this is it too | March 18 2003, 10:48 AM |
Nancy,
I am really happy about my numbers, but I am really keeping myself in check. The disappointment for me has been worse in the past when I allow myself to get too hopeful. I'm not being pessimistic either, just trying to "be cool".
I don't feel any symptoms of anything at all. But I've had months where I was nauseous, had cravings, had sore boobs, etc. -- I was convinced I was pregnant. So none of the symptoms mean anything to me anymore. I'll believe I'm pregnant when I see a + hpt.
Keep your chin up.
Thinking about you,
