ok here's the story,
I went to the ob/gyn last night...
Has anyone heard of this???
This is what he wants me to do....
On the first day of my next period, he wants me start taking "Necon" (a bc pill)
Instead of taking the entire pack (including dummy pills), he wants me to jump right to the new pack on my 2nd period from now. SO instead of taking 21 orange pills and 7 white pills, I will be taking 21 orange pills and then jumping to the next pack of 21 orange pills again... (I should only have af for about 1 day he says)
Then after orange pills are done skip the next set of white again and I should be getting my AF. Then he wants me to take the clomid 100 mg days 5 -9 and then we all know what to do after that ;0)
WOW, that sounds really confusing....
So that means the next 2 months I will be on bc pills without the dummy pills in between and then I am goung back on clomid....
Back to my origional point has anyone heard of this? My dr says he has much more success with positive pregnancy results by using the clomid after this bc pill for 2 months....
Why can't you take clomid without taking BC pills first??? I have never heard of this. It sounds interesting. You may want to ask your Dr. why he wants you to do this? Are there any medical explainations for your infertility? Sorry that I wasn't a big help. Take care.
I am pregnant but check the board periodically so I know who to pray for! I have heard of that approach for getting a patient amenorreac (sp?), and I have done it for that purpose to try to stave off the endometriosis.
My lay person's thoughts on why that might work. Having 6 weeks instead of 3 weeks to build up a uterine lining might help later with conception on clomid. I know I was on provera to try to make any period at all, but it was also supposed to thicken up my uterine lining. The lining of a menopausal woman or one on lupron or danazol (for endo) is supposed to be very thin. It makes sense to me that you might want to thicken yours up. Just a guess.
Good luck. I am praying for all of you who are still ttc. I am 20 weeks now and am just cooking along. I found out after I told my REI that I was pregnant that he had given me almost no chance beyond a miracle to conceive.
