I am a little discouraged with my results. The month before last my progesterone level without clomid was 13 this month after taking 50mg it was a 9, now they are bumping me to 100mg of clomid. This months side effects were sore breasts, cramping and gas. We are in our mid 30s and have no children, we will be celebrating out 10th anniversary in september and sooooo want a baby. My doctor has be taking clomid days 3-7 then having sex on the 10th, 12th, 14th and 16th of my cycle. Of course my husbands count is fine and they say I am free of cysts etc. Why is this so difficult.
Hang in there. It took me three rounds before this worked. I did not ovulate at all till the third round. I started with 50mg day 5-9. Then 100 mg 5-9. And finally my Dr. had me take 100 mg 3-9 and it worked. Now I have a beautiful baby boy who is 6 months old. You may want to ask your Dr. about adding the extra two days. I don't know why but it worked for me!!!
Hi there. Your information was good to hear. I have a 17 month old born 9/03 and got pg the second month on Clomid 50 mg. Had to have an emergency c-section as one of my ovaries was twisted and it had to be removed. Anyway, I am now taking Clomid again and have been for the past 5 months on the same dosage (50 mg.) My physician is going to be doing a progesterone and prolactin level test next week and he will possibly be raising my dosage to 100. However, before taking the Clomid, I have really short cycles (about 24 days and with it, they are extended to about 28/29 and my luteal phase has lengthened which is a problem I had. It is now around 12-14 days and without the Clomid it ran about 9 or maybe 10 if lucky.
Just out of curiosity, did your physician think you should extend the Clomid the two extra days and if so, what was his reasoning? I am very interested in asking my doctor about this as well. Thank you and I look forward to your feedback.
