Hi there everyone. I wanted to find out if anyone out there has been prescribed clomid and taken it as prescribed to later find out they were already pregnant?
My husband and I went through 3 cycles of clomid and IUI's last year and conceived in the third month. However, we experienced a miscarriage at 16 weeks. We recently found out that I have PCOS and he has 2 varicoceles and my ob/gyn suggested that before my husband had surgery done we should try another couple of rounds of IUI's coupled with Clomid. My cycle had been really off and I was bleeding between periods. So we started the clomid at the beginning of one of my bleeding episodes and then used our Clearplan Blue Fertility monitor. I had an LH surge and went in for IUI. A couple of weeks later I did an hpt and it was positive. So I went in for a blood test and sure enough my HCG levels were at 11,420. So they scheduled an ultrasound. We had the ultrasound today and found out that I was pregnant before beginning the Clomid or having the IUI. I am looking for information on what kind of effects this could have on our unborn child.

I read that you also took Clomic while pregnant. Did you get a response to your inquire about dangers associated when taking Clomid while pregnant? I talked to my doctor today, and she said not to be concerned.
I am a first time vistor to this site but the posting about being pregnant while on Clomid caught my attention. My husband and I had tried to get pregnant for close to a year and I was finally put on Clomid. After taking 2 home pregnancy tests, and one blood test with my doctor (all with not pregnant results) I started on the lowest dose of Clomid. Three weeks later I was 6 weeks pregnant. I had an ultrasound at 7 weeks and we heard the heartbeat, but the sac was about 3 weeks behind in development. I had a second ultrasound at 8 weeks and the baby's heartbeat had stopped. I ended up having a d&c shortly thereafter, but I still am trying to understand what happened? Could taking the Clomid have caused the sac to not develop at a fast enough rate? Does anyone have any ideas? It's been 4 months since my miscarriage and we are trying to decide if Clomid is something we should try again. The hardest part is we feel like 1 year later we are no closer to an answer to our infertility questions then we are today. I am very interested in knowing what ended up happening with these other women who were on Clomid while pregnant.
